Damir Avdic alias Diplomatz is a hardcore poet and performer who talks about Bosnia today, at the twilight of a modern world controlled by fake religion, commercialized revolution, and false democracy serving as a cover for capitalist brutality. He sings in Bosnian: "Whoever wants to understand, will understand!" Razor-sharp lyrics, shot from the heart and hitting you right in the head. The truth hurts, and Diplomatz tells it without compromise, and without mercy. With the eyes of a psycho and hard, powerful, threatening guitar riffs, he delivers a message without any illusions. Diplomatz alias Damir Avdic is everything in one: singer, poet, guitarist, band, actor, writer, thinker. Everything he does, he does from the heart. He comes from the tough underground scene of Tuzla, where he has collaborated with bands like rock'n'rollers No Rules, dub/reggae outfit Defence, and hip-hop rhyme fighter Frenkie. He is currently part of the Moonlee Records stable. His second album Mrtvi su mrtvi! (The Dead Are Dead!) is more direct than its predecessor and just as raw as his live performances, hitting as hard as ever. "You can't break the system from outside, by explosion. You have to do it from within, by implosion – and that can bring you down, too," says hardcore Diplomatz, ending his challenge with a question: "Are you ready?"

With their unique brand of alternative rock, fronted by a charismatic singer, two powerful guitars and a tight rhythm section,Slovenian quintet Psycho-Path is a formidable force. In July 2007 Psycho-Path entered the studio with producer Bobby MacIntyre (ex-member of The Twilight Singers, also worked with Bad Brains, Jimmy Girl, Lucinda Williams, Mark Lanegan…) to record their fifth full-length album. Late night sessions, drinking too much whiskey, half-awake percussion recordings, tambourine overdose, metronomes gone amok… The final result? The Ass-Soul Of Psycho-Path. The first album recorded with the new line up and the most varied, eclectic, yet accessible Psycho-Path album to date. Don't Mess With Texas recorded and produced their sophomore album Los Dias De Junio in a movie theatre in Zagreb by themselves, with some additional help from their friends. Final mastering has been done by Carl Saff (who has previously worked with We Ragazzi, Small Arms Dealer, Sunburned Hand Of The Man and many others). Structured in a similar manner as the band's s/t (2004, hmrl003), Los Dias De Junio is full of glorious moments. It is a carefully constructed album with equal parts of minimalist swell and swirling tension of sound providing each instrument in the texture plenty of space. There is an unspeakable clarity that runs through this record. Mesmerizing subtlety can be heard in aery guitars and lush piano which interweave through the solid and sturdy rhythms. Despite the despodent atmosphere, these nine songs do not appear crestfallen, but provide the sense of ease and placidity with the turbulent undertow. On this album, Don't Mess With Texas manage to condense their established dazzling epic sound into well-defined, focused and concise songs. Hush and serene while being dynamic, but far from sounding pompous or overstuffed, Don't Mess With Texas are determined to make you calm and disturbed at the same time. This is no easy feat, but as heard on this album, Neven, Ozren, Saša and Slobich once again pull it off easily and in a successful manner.

It was really worth waiting, and whoever waited won't regret it. COG's new record is going to shake you up so hard you'll feel like you're on fire, not just because their bass player is a pyrotechnician, but also because heir new record is nothing less than a combination of killer beats, hick sounding bass and amazing guitar playing. In this case shouting combined with singing is just icing on a cake. They have a strong presence that's full of energy and you are sure to witness one of the greatest noise bands of our time...

A lot of indie experimental music, a lot of times, sounds similar to itself. We need music that pushes the envelope, and VUNENY are here to fulfil our needs. With their second full length titled V2, VUNENY are here to show us all that they make music that's cutting edge. There have been lots of acts that have come out of Eastern Europe but nothing like VUNENY. On V2 Andrijan, Nedim and Asmir used their skills to the fullest, every little aspect is brought down to the perfection and handled very smoothly. Frankly, the uniqueness of VUNENY makes it real hard to compare them to other artists, but listening to their work you can definitely hear rhythmic perfection that bands such as Tool dole out or crazy maneuvers that Squarepusher is known for.

If you live in Europe and haven't heard of HITCH you must be living in a shithole. Come on we're talking about one of the biggest indie rock bands Europe has to offer. It's hard to believe that the energy they give off is provided by a three piece. You'll be blown away when you see all three singing, Mich pulling off crazy guitar riffs, Paul hitting the gut with the heavy bass lines and unbelievably tight drumming by Olivier. Trust me, ya'll haven't seen shit until you see Olivier kicking the shit out of them drums, as if they made out with his ladyfriend. HITCH ain't messing around. Period. It really makes no sense to compare HITCH to any band cause no matter how cheesy it may sound they really are unique. Of course you can hear some DC influence, of course you can hear some mid nineties influence but all in all HITCH is HITCH, the one and only. Their 4th full length album entitled We Are Electric! recorded in Kozmo studios (Zagreb, Croatia) is their best material so far and a genius masterpiece.

CHANG FFOS are heavy. Not the kinda heavy you're used to. They're heavier than that. Period. Imagine all the steel Sweden has to offer, multiply that with a million and you might get a picture of how heavy this psychedelic rock meets sludge meets hardcore meets doom meets noise outfit is. Imagine Neurosis' heaviness, Converge's energy, Today Is The Day's craziness and the atmosphere provided by Kyuss, and you're on your good way to enter the temple of CHANG FFOS. The debut full length was recorded at Kozmo studio in May of 2005. The recording session was done on a 2" tape and was handled by Mr. Jomi Ajjomi of the infamous Analena and Lunar. Mr. Steve Austin, of the legendary Today Is The Day and owner of the Austin Enterprise, took care of the mastering. The album was titled Trust This Arcane Device clocking over 45 minutes wrapped up in 9 songs of sheer brutality.

ENTREAT. are from Slovenia. That for itself doesn't say much, but if you are familiar with other bands from that country you will agree that they all feature a certain melancholic turbulence in their music. Clean tone guitars have mixed up many music definitions and the way ENTREAT. play their guitars labeled them emo-metal. However, their roots lie somewhere else: in the North, deep in Swedish hardcore and metal. Now, finally out, from the infamous Alpha Omega studio, released by Moonlee Records, comes Deincubation, their second album, named after the very process through which it came into existence. ENTREAT. presents perceptions gathered in the past and marks new directions. They point the way they are going, taking their music with them.

DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS play subtle, smooth, trance-inducing music by applying both art and craft. Like a slow and meditative long-haul trek, listening to their debut full length is fulfilling and rewarding. It is rare to hear such a young band like DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS which manages its sound and songs in such a economical manner.
