Intriguing Serbian singer-songwriter Jelena Petošević and Slovenian guitar indie-rock trio Lelee present their joint song 'Igra bela mečka' (in english: 'The Polar Bear Is Dancing'), released as a single and music video on Friday, March 13, 2026, via Moonlee Records.

Lelee met Jelena Petošević by accident during their short tour in Montenegro, sponteniously performed together and instantly “clicked.” Six months later, they released their joint single “Igra bela mečka”, a satirical story about a world turned upside down: Greenland is melting, the polar bear is dancing, and we’re all cheerfully singing along. The song sounds like a Morricone-style spaghetti-Balkan soundtrack for a Tarantino film shot in the Balkans – singer-songwriter storytelling meets dub rhythms with an unexpected surf twist. Upside down!

Jelena comments on the song: "It is a satirical song that portrays the real elements of the prevailing human mentality and the exploitation of everything a person can get their hands on. We are doomed to be silent observers of the catastrophic consequences of capitalism and consumerism at their peak."

The music video was created with the help of artificial intelligence under the digital conducting baton of Jelena Petošević: “Of course, this is inherently contradictory, but in a way it symbolically aligns with the theme. It opens a debate about the boundary between the positive and negative uses of artificial intelligence – practicality and accessibility versus the large water consumption required to run such systems, as well as the danger of human regression due to excessive reliance on its assistance.”

The indie-rock trio Lelee is currently probably the most vital and interesting name on the Slovenian alternative guitar scene. With their albums (('Čuka bije pumpa', 2021 and 'Mora malo u crveno', 2024, both released via Moonlee Records) and over 100 energetic concerts, they have quickly made their mark on the indie audience across the Balkan region. Their songs, full of verve and drive, are characterized by hooky refrains and melodies that become ingrained in your skull and follow you long after. The trio employ a wide range of geographically and historically diverse guitar expressions, striking a fine balance between inventive arrangements and all-out rocking.

Jelena Petošević is an intriguing singer-songwriter from Belgrade, Serbia, also known as Yelena (or Lady Jelena), and known for hits like Nikola, Mala Danka, Slatka mala, and Dole u mraku from the TV series Močvara. Her musical expression is sweet and gentle, yet deeply ironic – through witty and illustrative songs, she depicts a harsh, dystopian world in a thought-provoking way.
